Kelly Clarkson just kicked off the holidays early!
The singer has been busy with The Voice, but she took some time to headline Providence College’s annual Late Night Madness event on October 3 in Providence, Rhode Island. Singing some of her biggest hits throughout the night, Kelly got quite the surprise from the audience during the show.
As X user @teachpe2005 captured on video, the audience begged Kelly to dip into her holiday songbook with her 2013 hit “Underneath the Tree.” Kelly was into it, and her band queued up the music and granted everyone’s wishes.
Soon after the video went viral on social media, fans were obsessed with Kelly indulging the audience with holiday music.
“This is amazing,” one person wrote on X. “Lmaooo! Move over moo! There’s a new Christmas Queen in town! An entire crowd begging for Kelly’s Underneath The Tree in October 😭,” another cheered. “Yep. That’s right. October 3, and approximately 12,000 people at a college event are begging Kelly Clarkson to sing ‘Underneath the Tree.’ @kellyclarkson is officially part of the Christmas season. 🎄,” a different follower penned.
Throughout the years, Kelly has released two holiday-themed albums. Wrapped in Red dropped in October 2013, and When Christmas Comes Around ... came out in October 2021. Both records included renditions of classic holiday songs, along with new tunes, like the 2022 duet “Santa, Can’t You Hear Me” with Ariana Grande. She dropped her last holiday single, “You for Christmas,” in late 2024.
While we don’t know what Kelly has up her sleeve this holiday season, we can only hope it comes with a new selection of songs!
