The Voice season 30 premiered on September 21 on NBC.
Kelly Clarkson was fired up over Joe Henley’s audition performing Travis Tritt’s “Anymore.”
Kelly begged the 19-year-old artist to “quit looking” at fellow coach Riley Green in hopes of snagging him for her team.
The Voice season 30 is underway—and Kelly Clarkson is fighting for artists in every way that she can.
The premiere episode aired September 21 on NBC, and fans saw Kelly, Riley Green, Queen Latifah, and Adam Levine begin to form their teams. Nineteen-year-old country singer Joe Henley was one of the artists up for the Blind Auditions, performing a rendition of Travis Tritt’s “Anymore.”
Kelly and Riley immediately turned their chairs around, but Joe seemed focused on Riley—something Kelly called out when it came time to convince him to join her team.
“Quit looking at him!” she screamed in the YouTube clip, walking in front of Riley’s chair.
“It’s his eyes—I can’t help it!” Joe responded earnestly.
Not necessarily satisfied with that answer, Kelly tried to divert Joe’s attention from Riley.
“I’m gonna stand right here,” she said as Riley put his cowboy hat on her head. “Look at my eyes! Look how cute I am!”
The moment got a lot of attention from fans online.
“Kelly should’ve joined in with her fired-up harmony ❤️,” one person wrote in the comments. “Kelly with her old shenanigans techniques again 😂😂,” another laughed.
Unfortunately for Kelly, Joe chose Riley as his coach. But since artists can sometimes get sent to different teams throughout the show, there’s always a chance to see Kelly and Joe work together in the future!
