Rob Lowe is taking a walk down memory lane.

In an exciting announcement made by Variety on October 20, fans learned the actor will be the subject of a new Netflix documentary.

Titled Rob Lowe: The Outsider (premiering November 24, 2026, on Netflix), the project will follow Rob’s career from his early 1980s roles, like St. Elmo’s Fire and The Outsiders, to his Emmy-nominated portrayal of Sam Seaborn in The West Wing. It will also show the ups and downs of his life in the public eye.

“It hasn’t been officially announced, but I believe November 24th, Netflix is gonna release a documentary on my life,” he shared on the September 26 episode of the Chicks in the Office podcast. “And you know what is fun is the archival footage that they’ve discovered. Like The Outsiders auditions and, like, talk shows that I was on as a baby, and, like, behind the scenes of movies ... It’s a real journey, I’ll tell you that.”

This isn’t Rob's only project with Netflix at the moment.

The actor is also slated to appear in the new holiday film In a Holidaze, premiering December 2, 2026. Based on Christina Lauren’s book of the same name, the movie will show him alongside Maddie Ziegler, Graham Phillips, and Patton Oswalt. It follows Maelyn “May” Jones, who gets stuck in a Christmas time loop while spending her last holiday at her family’s cabin.

“From beloved authors Christina Lauren comes a new holiday classic worth reliving,” the caption read alongside the YouTube trailer. “Maddie Ziegler stars in this festive romantic comedy about second chances, tangled feelings, and a chosen family you’ll want to spend the holidays with. It’s going to be one cozy cabin Christmas with infinite do-overs.”

Looks like we have to mark our calendars!
