It’s been almost five months since High Potential season 2 last aired, and we’re already excited for what’s next!
With the hit drama returning for season 3, fans will get to see Morgan Gillory (Kaitlin Olson) and Detective Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata) solve more crimes for the LAPD—and evolve their complicated personal and professional relationship.
Recently, Daniel teased that High Potential kicked off filming season 3, making us even more curious about when we can see more from our favorite crime-solving duo. Here’s what we know about the new season premiere.
Will there be a new season of High Potential in 2026?
Much to fans' frustration, High Potential will not return in 2026.
According to a May 12 report from ABC, the show is being held until 2027 as part of a broader TV rollout that includes The Rookie, Will Trent, and more.
“Our focus has always been simple: Make the best shows on television and get them to audiences however they want to watch,” said President of Disney Television Group, Craig Erwich. “That strategy continues to drive the success of ABC and Hulu—from legacy hits being embraced by new generations to breakout series becoming the next cultural touchstones."
As Kaitlin stated while walking the red carpet at the Disney Advertising Upfront in New York City in May, season 3 has a lot to explore.
“Well, we left you on quite a cliffhanger,” she said in a clip posted on Instagram. “Is Captain Wagner [Steve Howey] dead? Has he been stabbed to death? Has he just been stabbed? I have no answers for you. Just questions as well.”
“Oh, I wish I could tell you everything,” she added. “There’s always the will they or won’t they with Karadec. There’s a lot of heartbreak at the end of this season, but I really love seeing Morgan struggle and get it wrong, because it makes her human.”
We’ll just have to wait to find out!
