The first week of Dancing With the Stars season 35 is complete, and fans have a lot to say about the latest ousted contestants.
The female celebs took to the stage on the September 16 episode, performing their first dances for judges and viewers at home. Influencer and reality star Sarah Jane Nader and pro Hailey Bills performed a Jive to Avril Lavigne’s “Sk8er Boi.”
Unfortunately, the couple scored only 14 out of 30, the second-lowest score of the night. But the final decision came down to audience votes, and Sarah and Hailey became the second couple eliminated from season 35, behind Conner Leavitt and Adele Zaikman.
Fans took to Instagram to share their feelings about the shocking result.
“[I don’t care] what anybody says, they did not deserve to go home,” one person sounded off in the comments. “Producers really stuffed up this year's format, I feel so sorry for the new pros and the stars that deserved better from the show,” another agreed. “Wait … HOW were they eliminated … This is so fun,” a different follower added.
When speaking to Us Weekly about her elimination, Sarah Jane said she appreciated everything she got from being on the show.
“Our last night was honestly amazing. We had so much fun out there and, of course, we wanted to stay longer,” she told the outlet. “We had so many fun plans for iconic dances, but we got to know each other, which is, like, the most amazing thing ever.”
“[It] was such an honor, and Hailey and I took it so seriously and we really gave it our all,” she added. “So I really wouldn’t change anything about this experience.”
We’ll have to see which celeb gets voted off next week!
