You know a bag has made the cut when your favourite celebrities have been spotted sporting it. Some hold a deep devotion to the classics - the Hermès Birkin and the Chanel 2.55 - while others have turned to more contemporary styles in recent years, such as the Gucci Giglio.

“I’ve got the Deliberate XL in brown suede - I admit, I was influenced by Katie Holmes - and it makes every outfit look a little bit cooler. It’s also ideal for carting all my stuff - a laptop, extra jumpers, an umbrella, random snacks - to and from the office every day.
“You can wear it over your shoulder or crossbody, which makes it a great everyday shopper. My only niggle? It sags a little when you put heavy things in, so if you think that will annoy you, get the smaller size and use it more as an everyday handbag. It’s a great balance of practical and chic - I’m currently in my Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy era and it’s perfect for that laid-back, early ’90s vibe.”
