I don't know about you, but despite the UK's unpredictable weather (a downpour here, an unexpected temperature drop there), I'm still looking to inject some colour into my wardrobe. After all, summer officially begins in just two weeks.
And while plenty of bright shades emerge once the season shifts, be it tangerine orange or hot pink, there's one unexpected yet welcome colour that's started appearing across high street stores: lime green. Given the popularity of earthy, foliage inspired tones in recent seasons, its rise doesn't come as a complete surprise. This time, however, it's all about vibrant citrus hues, following in the footsteps of lemon yellow.
Of course, M&S has already embraced the trend with its floaty lime dress, but the retailer has since launched a zesty co-ord that's both chic and endlessly comfortable.
The set consists of a pair of elegant trousers made from a comfortable stretch fabric - ideal for warmer days when the last thing you want to wear is something restrictive - and a matching fabric short sleeved top. Together, they create an easy, breezy outfit you'll find yourself reaching for on repeat over the coming months.
But, I'd even go as far as to say this set has longevity beyond summer. Not to get too ahead of myself, but when you consider the cost per wear, you'll likely get plenty of use from these pieces come autumn, too. Green transitions well between seasons, making it a smart investment long after summer ends.
For now, wear the pieces together on holiday, paired with gold jewellery for a sun kissed finish. Add a chic pair of leather look toe post sandals, and you'll have a summertime outfit you'll never tire of.
