Finding a great pair of white summer trousers is a mission. I’m lucky I managed to snag a pair of white cotton poplin balloon trousers from Arket last summer. Every other pair I’ve liked since has been sold out in my size.

They popped up on my screen as “New In” this morning and, at the time of writing, they are fully stocked.
Made from a light viscose fabric, these trousers have that “built-in aircon” vibe about them. They have curved vents that open on the outer leg, and the kind of wide, flowy cut that, if you squint, might look like you are wearing a long maxi dress.

Only, being trousers, they are that much easier to stride around in, allow plenty of ventilation and are just perfect to wear with a crisp shirt, tank top, a shirred blouse or a linen top. Or a bikini. Or a chic swimsuit.
They’re that kind of trouser. Smart and polished for a hot summer day, but decidedly casual in any other kind of weather.
Given we are now in July, officially in summer and the heat is on, if you need a pair, these particular white trousers might be your best investment of the season.
