If you've been constantly checking your weather app over the past few days in fear of a surprise heatwave returning, I'll bet you're especially pleased to see the forecast for the next week. While the Met has predicted that high temperatures are set to return at the beginning of September, this week sees a pleasant drop in degrees, as well as (wait for it) rainfall.
So, I'd say it's high time you invested in something lightweight enough to nail dressing for muggy weather, but that will also keep you dry when the drizzle comes in full force.
The solution? Unsurprisingly, it comes from M&S. Cast your mind back to the start of March, when the mercury subtly began to rise, and we made a beeline for the high street hero to snap up its lightweight anorak parka from the Stormwear range in pretty pink. Immediately, you'll notice that the jacket comes with funnel neck detailing, a trend that was incredibly popular last year and one that has now come back with a vengeance for AW26.
But it's not just the neck detailing that gives this style an update.
You'll probably have also noticed the elasticated hem, which closely resembles a bomber, but also plenty of blouson styles on the market. I'd even go so far as to argue that it takes some elements from Chloé's famous blouson style (minus the pleated detailing and cropped silhouette).
