If there's one thing I've learnt from watching The Traitors, it's that Claudia Winkleman has an unmatched ability to make even the most practical wardrobe staples look incredibly chic. From heritage jackets to dramatic, theatrical capes and cosy knitwear, her outfits have become just as much of a talking point as the twists and turns of the drama game show.
With Claudia Winkleman's outfit tonight, though, it's a simple black bomber jacket that's caught everyone's attention - and for good reason. She (with the help of her stylist Sinead McKeefry) paired the jacket with the tartan adorned Alex Kick Mini Skirt from Alexander McQueen, and a pair of chunky, black leather boots.
While Winkleman's exact style is suspected to be a hefty priced designer piece, there are plenty of versions of this style in just about every single high street store. The best one I've found? It comes from M&S, who stock a brilliant alternative for just £45.
However, unlike Claudia's original, the budget friendly style swaps out subtle funnel neck detailing for something far more practical: a lightweight hood. Great news then for anyone looking for a staple to battle unpredictable weather forecasts - you won't need an umbrella when the drizzle begins.
Of course, we all know that the true brilliance of a black bomber is how versatile it is. It works just as well thrown over jeans and a striped knit for weekend coffee runs as it does layered over tailored trousers and matching black loafers for the office. Typically designed with a boxy fit, it leaves plenty of room for chunky knits underneath when temperatures really begin to drop.
So, if you're only investing in one lightweight jacket before winter arrives, I'd make a strong case for this one. But, if you're still open to a piece with funnel neck detailing, I've included a few more below for ease.
