The One Show's Alex Jones is known for her crowd pleasing, accessible style – we often watch her on the sofa and wonder where all her outfits are from. In fact, we follow her stylist Tess Wright on Instagram so we can get all the intel.
So, we were very interested to learn that the Welsh presenter has been working with British clothing brand Cotton Traders to create an edit of her favourite cosy layers for autumn, from Fair Isle knits to cosy cords and some brilliant outerwear for rainy days.
Our top pick for this drizzly weather is the Checked Wax Jacket, which has a chic muted tartan print, stylish cord collar and cuffs, a waxed finish to protect from the rain and a quilted lining (which is something you don't get with a Barbour waxed jacket, just saying). It's also a more affordable £89 – no wonder it's flying off the shelves.
We'll be pairing ours with one of the cosy Fair Isle knits from the edit – we love the burgundy and pink design of the embellished Sea Glass knit below, which features pretty diamanté buttons up the back – along with the wide-leg, stretch cords in chocolate brown, the shade of the season.
And if you're looking for more cosy, versatile pieces to fill gaps in your autumn wardrobe, here are five further stylish buys from the collection.
This embellished light mocha jumper will work hard in your wardrobe – wear with a great pair of tailored trousers or use it to dress up your favourite relaxed denim.
We love a pair of tailored trousers that are also comfy and this black pair with front pleats have a surprise elasticated waistband, which means they'll make the perfect Christmas trouser. They look elegant while still allowing you to fit in those extra mince pies.
This denim tie neck blouse is ideal for layering under knitted vests and looks great worn with some dark indigo jeans for a 1970s-inspired look.
Alternatively, pair it with these checked tapered trousers and some slouchy socks and loafers.
