A statement skirt is the one item you need this spring - here are 7 of the best, from £36
Swishy and eye catching, these skirts are incredibly trendy for spring.

Sometimes, it’s hard to tell which runway trend will dominate in popularity, but other times, the answer is crystal clear. This season, one piece unquestionably stands out: the statement skirt. And really, it should come as no surprise, it’s right there in the name, and it certainly made its mark on the spring and summer shows.
Chanel’s creative director, Matthew Blazy, cemented the trend on the runway, presenting long maxi skirts adorned with extravagant feathering in bold colours, including a striking multicoloured design and another in vivid, bold red. Elsewhere, Prada and Alexander McQueen also championing the trend.
Naturally, the high street has taken note, and I've spotted a plethora of statement skirts at some of my favourite affordable stores. Uniquely designed, the statement skirt comes in all forms: some featuring satin, others lace, and occasionally tulle. H&M's plum red asymmetric style is a top contender, followed by M&S's stylishly ruffled floral version that will breathe new life into your spring wardrobe.
One of the best I could find, however, comes courtesy of Boden. Its powdered pink, polka dot skirt is an adorable choice, and is the perfect occasion wear choice for spring. Style with a tailored black blazer for a polished touch, and with a pair of stylish black ballet flats for easy wearability.
