Sometimes the simplest gifts make the biggest impact, and we reckon Mum would love nothing more than a “home-cooked” meal shared with her favourite people this Mother’s Day. The good news is that M&S has made that incredibly easy this year thanks to its brand-new Mother’s Day Meal Deal, which does most of the hard work for you while still delivering a proper celebratory spread.

Available in stores from 11–15 March, the deal costs £20 for four people and includes a generous sharing-sized main plus three family-sized sides. Some of the mains are large enough to comfortably feed six people, but even if you’re serving four, it works out at roughly £3.33–£5 per person, which feels like a serious bargain for a very special occasion meal.

There are plenty of options to choose from too. The mains include Salt & Pepper British Chicken, Slow Cooked Boneless Tender British Beef with Rich Beef Gravy, Ultimate British Pork Crackling Joint, and a Roast in the Bag Wild Garlic Salmon Side. There’s also a brand-new Mushroom Stroganoff Vegetarian Pie, filled with sautéed mushrooms, leeks and potatoes in a creamy paprika sauce, all wrapped in an all-butter puff pastry case - perfect for any non-meat eaters around the table.

Once you’ve chosen your centrepiece, you can pick three sides to complete the meal. Options include roast potatoes, herby hasselback potatoes (our top pick for sure), honey roasted carrots, and a tray of root veg for roasting, topped with rosemary butter. If you’re leaning towards greens, there’s a spring greens, cavolo nero and peas mix or a comforting cheesy green vegetable bake. And of course, you can’t forget the Yorkshire puddings. We do wonder though, where's the gravy, M&S?!

Everything comes ready flavoured and seasoned, meaning whoever’s on cooking duty can simply pop it in the oven (and microwave for some sides) and just relax. No complicated prep, minimal mess and plenty of time to actually enjoy the day together.

And if you're still keen on gifting something for mum on top of cooking her a nice meal, the Ultimate Mother's Day Afternoon Tea (£75) would go down a treat.
