From everyday essentials we buy on repeat, to exciting new launches, there are a wealth of food and drink products vying for a place in our shopping baskets.

So, the Good Housekeeping Food Awards are here to celebrate the products that deliver on taste, quality, value and innovation. Our food editors and expert testers will be putting entries through a rigorous assessment to help our readers discover the very best products available in the UK.

From store-cupboard staples and snacks to drinks, sweet treats and meat-free alternatives, the awards will recognise the tastiest products worth adding to your basket – and buying again.

Here’s everything you need to know, including how to submit your product for consideration.

How are products tested for the Good Housekeeping Food Awards?

The Food Awards winners will be chosen by an expert panel made up of our food editors and Good Housekeeping Institute experts.

Products will be assessed against a range of criteria, including taste, quality, appearance, texture, packaging, ease of use and value for money. Depending on the category, products will be prepared as per the brand's instructions and assessed as consumers would enjoy them at home.

The review process

  • All submitted products will undergo independent testing, assessment and editorial review by the Good Housekeeping food team and relevant Good Housekeeping Institute experts.
  • Entry submission does not guarantee inclusion, shortlisting or an award win in any category.
  • Editorial discretion will determine the most suitable category placement for each product, based on its nature, performance and market positioning.
  • Products may be assessed alongside comparable products on the market.
  • The testing process is confidential and proprietary to Good Housekeeping.
  • Products must be supplied with accurate, up-to-date ingredient, allergen and nutritional information.

Submission fee

  • To enter your product, we require a non-refundable submission fee of £250 (plus VAT, where applicable). This applies to each individual product entered.
  • The submission fee must be paid in full. Brands will be invoiced within 14 days of entry.
  • Entries will not be considered complete until payment has been received.

Awards logos and licensing

  • Should a product be selected as a winner in its category, the entrant has the option to purchase the official Good Housekeeping Food Awards logo for marketing and promotional use, for each award won.
  • Use of the logo or any reference to an award win or testing outcome without prior written authorisation is strictly prohibited.

What are the requirements for food and drink products to be considered?

Both new launches and established products can be submitted for the Good Housekeeping Food Awards.

Products must be available for consumers to buy in the UK through to January 2028. All products should also be supplied in sufficient quantities for testing.

All entries must include complete and accurate product information, including ingredients, allergen declarations, nutritional information, pack size, recommended retail price and availability.

Products must be suitable for testing by the Good Housekeeping team. Please include details of any storage, preparation or serving requirements when submitting your entry.

What product categories are eligible to be submitted?

The team will consider products for the Good Housekeeping Food Awards across a number of categories, including the following:

  • Breakfast products, including cereals, porridge, granola and spreads
  • Store-cupboard essentials, including sauces, condiments, cooking ingredients, grains, pulses and tinned products
  • Snacks, including crisps, savoury snacks, nuts and popcorn
  • Sweet treats, including chocolate, biscuits, sweets and desserts
  • Bakery, including bread, pastries and cakes
  • Chilled products, including dairy, chilled desserts, prepared foods and fresh produce
  • Frozen food, including ready meals, desserts and frozen ingredients
  • Meat, fish and poultry products
  • Vegetarian and vegan products
  • Drinks, including soft drinks, hot drinks, juices and functional beverages
  • Alcoholic drinks, including wine, beer, spirits and low- and no-alcohol products
  • Food and drink innovations, including products offering a notable new format, ingredient, flavour, process or environmental benefit

We will not accept seasonal products, which can otherwise be entered into our annual taste tests: Valentine's Meal Deals, Easter, BBQ and Christmas.

Please email [email protected] if you have a product that isn’t listed above but you believe would be a great fit for the awards.

How can I submit a product for review?

You must submit an entry form to be considered. You’ll find more information about submitting product samples and supporting information via the entry form.

If you have multiple products to submit, you must complete a separate form for each one. You will be able to pay for all submissions together.
