best new food and drink products

With so many new food and drink launches arriving every single month, it can be hard to know what's genuinely worth adding to your shopping basket. We get it. Between supermarket shelves, social media recommendations and hundreds of new products vying for your attention, not every launch lives up to the hype – and not everything deserves your money.

That's where our Senior Food & Drink Writer, Mel Giandzi, comes in. As our resident foodie (and someone who's always first in line to try a new supermarket launch), she receives hundreds of emails every month about everything from snacks, drinks and sauces to cookbooks, restaurants and kitchen gadgets. But only a small handful ever earn a place in her own kitchen. This is where you'll find them.

The products below are the ones that genuinely impressed her enough to buy again, recommend to friends and family, or keep talking about long after the first taste. Some solve an everyday cooking problem, others introduce a brilliant new flavour or simply make mealtimes a little more joyful – but every recommendation has been tried, tested and loved.Expect a carefully curated mix of standout food and drink discoveries, cookbooks that are already covered in sticky notes, plus the occasional kitchen gadget, ingredient or appliance that's become a permanent part of her cooking routine. If something appears here, you can be confident it's earned its place.

This page is updated every month, so bookmark it if you love discovering brilliant new food finds, hidden gems and future favourites before everyone else does.

Tilda Lemon and Basil Beans

I'm always looking for easy ways to add a little more protein and fibre to my meals, and Tilda's new range of seasoned legumes has become a very convenient shortcut. The Lemon & Basil Beans were my favourite by far – fresh, bright and herby, they're delicious stirred through salads, spooned over roasted vegetables or served alongside grilled fish or chicken.

Jamie's latest cookbook has quickly become one of my favourites. Filled with genuinely achievable 20-minute recipes, it's the clever layout that really won me over. Core ingredients and storecupboard essentials are displayed visually within sections, making every recipe feel refreshingly simple to follow. There are so many delicious dinners in here that I've already covered mine in sticky notes, and I have a feeling it'll become my go-to for easy weeknight cooking.

We've all got that point in the afternoon where energy levels start to dip, and for me it's usually around 3.30pm. These TRIP Tropical Mango drinks became my little pick-me-up every single day. They're incredibly refreshing with a lovely light, tropical flavour that's fruity without being overly sweet, making them just the thing to keep me going until home time. I now always have a few cans in the fridge for those afternoons when coffee just isn't what I'm craving.

Mr Chen’s dumplings have just launched in the UK, having come over from Australia, and these prawn hargow are an absolute triumph. The delicate crystal wrappers and moreish prawn filling, with hints of sesame and bamboo, make them the perfect addition to an Asian-inspired feast — especially as they’re so easy to steam from frozen. Don’t miss the BBQ pork buns, soup dumplings and wontons in the range, either; every single one is delicious.

All Things Smooth Cottage Cheese

I'm a huge fan of cottage cheese and find myself adding it to everything from pasta sauces to scrambled eggs for an easy protein boost. The only downside? I always had to get the stick blender out first to achieve that smooth, creamy texture. This clever new launch from All Things Butter does all the hard work for you. It's silky smooth straight from the tub, making it perfect for stirring into sauces, spreading on toast or dolloping onto baked potatoes. I've been using it to make the most delicious basil and chive sauce, which is brilliant spooned over salads, grilled fish or rice bowls. Why hasn't this existed sooner?

There is something incredibly satisfying about cooking with a squeezy bottle – no glugging, no oil running down the side and far more control when you're dressing salads or finishing a dish. Belazu's Envero Extra Virgin Olive Oil has become my go-to. It's beautifully fresh and grassy with a lovely peppery finish, and the clever bottle means every drizzle ends up exactly where you want it. It's one of those small kitchen upgrades that makes cooking just that little bit more enjoyable and stress-free.

Balance Coffee Clean Coffee Pods - Stability Blend 30 Pack

Balance Coffee Clean Coffee Pods - Stability Blend 30 Pack

I'm always on the hunt for coffee pods that taste like a proper café coffee rather than just a convenient one, and these really impressed me. They produced a beautifully smooth, creamy crema and had such a clean, balanced flavour without any bitterness. I also like that they independently tests its coffee for mould toxins and pesticide residues, so it's a brand that puts as much emphasis on quality as it does flavour.

Raymond Blanc has teamed up with PAUL on two limited-edition sandwiches, and they're exactly the sort of elevated lunch you'd expect from a French chef. While both were genuinely excellent, it was the Brie Blanc that completely won me over. Creamy Brie, sweet onion chutney, crisp celery, chicory and crunchy walnuts might not sound like an obvious combination, but every ingredient brings something different. It's fresh, indulgent and one of the best sandwiches I've eaten this month. Just don't hang around if you want to try one, as they're only available for a limited time.

Dallas Burger Joint

Doesn't this image just make you drool? Us too. This burger was seriously good. The quality of the beef was outstanding, with beautifully crispy, lacy edges that gave every bite so much flavour. But can we talk about the fries? They're freshly cut and fried every day, served skin-on and paired with what might just be the best smoky paprika sauce I've ever tasted. If you find yourself in Shoreditch and in need of a proper burger fix, make Dallas your first stop.
