LEGO's holiday sets are one of the things I look forward to most every holiday season. And this year, the brand’s releases did not disappoint; there are so many iconic and nostalgic sets worth adding to your collection. Plus, you’ll have a cozy winter activity to build between now and December 25—assuming you get your hands on one before they sell out.
I’ve always loved the ceramic winter villages my Grandma had, so as a LEGO collector, I really like the elaborate LEGO village sets they expand upon each year. If you enjoyed last year’s massive tree, you’ll enjoy building the brand-new charming holiday house that looks like it’s straight from your favorite Christmas movie. Plus, there’s an assortment of smaller pieces that the kids can help build from just $13, like this set of four ornaments or a filled stocking they can hang on the mantel.
A lot of these new sets are LEGO.com exclusives, so be wary if you see them on other retailers. (For instance, I spotted this Mrs. Claus set from a reseller for nearly double the LEGO price.) The links below are safe to shop, as they aren’t marked up.
The Up-Scaled Mrs. Claus is designed to look like LEGO’s popular minifigures, but she’s supersized at 10 inches tall. The figure can stand on her own, or you can set her alongside the Santa figurine that came out last year.
Fans of the movie Elf will want this 703-piece Buddy set, which measures at about 12 inches tall when done. He stands proud on a snowy mound in his bright yellow and green outfit with a penguin, candy canes, and, of course, maple syrup. As a LEGO addict, I predict this one will sell out fast this year.
And for those that can’t wait until December 25 to celebrate, there are licensed advent calendars featuring Marvel, Star Wars, and Disney princesses with daily surprises. There's also Santa's Holiday Countdown, which swaps daily surprises for reusable decor you can spin each day until Christmas.
