In 2023, LEGO released the most epic Halloween set ever: the cottage from the cult-favorite film, Hocus Pocus. And while the bewitching and beloved set was technically retired from production at the end of last year, you can still shop the Sanderson Sisters’ cottage—if you know where to look.
When a set is retired, that means LEGO stopped producing more of it, and once stock is gone, it’s gone for good. However, I’ve recently been seeing the Hocus Pocus cottage set pop up sporadically from resellers in extremely limited quantities. Right now, you can score the coveted set for $350 on Amazon and Walmart—which is $120 more expensive than its original retail price.
As a Hocus Pocus fan, I really appreciate the attention to detail with this set. Inside, you'll find everything from the museum gift shop to the witches' bat-filled bedroom, plus a cauldron that glows with the help of a light brick—and, of course, Book. (Yes, it even has an eyeball on the front.)
You can open the house to get a better look inside, and if you turn the water wheel you can make pink “smoke” come out of the chimney. There’s also a separate gate and graveyard build to display the characters that you’ll need to make space for.
This set is 2,316 pieces, and most of them are on the smaller side, which makes this aimed towards adult builders aged 18 and up. It also comes with six minifigures: Winifred, Sarah, and Mary Sanderson, along with Max, Dani, and Allison Dennison—and as a bonus, you’ll get a cat version of Thackery Binx. When finished, the cottage stands at 10.5 inches tall, 10 inches wide, and 9 inches deep.
As a LEGO collector, I’m tempted to make the splurge; after all, the price on retired sets tends to only go up overtime—never down. There are only a limited number available, and I’ve got a hunch that even at this price, they’ll be gone before you can cackle, “Sisters.” But if you’re looking for a haunted house that’s a little more budget-friendly, I’ve found some other options below, including the Nightmare Before Christmas set, which is slated to retire at the end of 2026.
