Fans of Hallmark's holiday flicks know the drill: A big-city girl visits a quaint mountain town, falls for a handsome local, and somehow saves Christmas. Somewhere along the way, she inherits the quaintest cottage, decked to the North Pole nines. While we can't promise you a meet-cute with a handsome stranger or the keys to a storybook home, we can help you give your backyard birds a taste of that made-for-TV magic.
The lucky residents of this ski-inspired birdhouse at Wayfair are in for a very merry Christmas, with its snow-white exterior, black shutters, festive red door, and matching chimney. A Christmas tree, wreath, and a red bench decorate the front porch, while twinkling white LED lights along the roof emit a cozy glow after dark.
Unlike the decorative cottages in your Christmas village, this one is made for feathered residents. Measuring 10 inches tall and wide, the wooden birdhouse has a 1.25-inch entrance, ventilation, drainage, and a cleanout panel. It also comes with a mounting paddle and requires no assembly.
The lights run on three AA batteries (not included), and a built-in timer keeps them glowing for six hours before switching off for the next 18. So you can enjoy the little chalet all lit up in the evening without heading outside in your slippers to turn it off.
Then again, we wouldn't blame you for keeping this little cottage to yourself. The listing suggests displaying it indoors for the holidays, where it would look adorable nestled among bottlebrush trees on a mantel, tucked into a festive tabletop display, or perched on a covered porch for curb appeal.
