Catherine Bell fans, you need to listen to what the actress just revealed on Instagram.
On August 8, the Good Witch alum took to the platform to alert longtime followers about something she’s been experiencing as of late. After posting screenshots (including one from AI) from various Facebook groups dedicated to her, Catherine explained that she has encountered many accounts impersonating her over the years.
As a result, the Hallmark star decided to issue a warning to her fans about being careful online, especially when it seems it’s coming from the star directly.
“There are SO MANY fake Catherine Bell accounts,” she wrote in the caption. “It makes me so sad—for all my fans that don’t realize it’s not me! PLEASE note I only have this account and the same name on Instagram (@therealcatherinebell). Both have the Facebook/Instagram blue checkmark, which means I am VERIFIED. None of the fake accounts have that. (Yes, I have a Twitter account but never use it) And I’m barely on TikTok for now!”
“Please block & report. Do not follow. Definitely do not let them scam you,” she added. “I don’t even have words for the kind of person that does this. But please know: they are out there!!! And they will do/say anything to get you!!! Let’s be smarter than these criminals...So … @therealcatherinebell. BLUE Verified checkmark from META! And while I do occasionally message people on Instagram, usually...it’s rare. And mostly a brief hello, encouragement about their workout, or something. That’s all!! Love you, guys! ❤️🙏🏼”
Upon seeing this disturbing discovery from Catherine, fans immediately rallied around to support her.
“Ugh yikes!!! It’s horrible that these exist!!!!” one person lamented in the comments. “I wish I had $100 for every fake account I reported,” another agreed. “I seem to be reporting on a daily basis. So sorry you and the fans have to deal with this. 💜,” a different follower added.
And as it turns out, Catherine has previously mentioned something like this happening, based on a similar Facebook post she wrote in January 2025.
“Sadly, I’m noticing a ton of scammers either pretending to be me or pretending to be regular people who talk to me directly on a different platform like Telegram, etc,” she wrote at the time. “Please don’t be fooled!...Please block and report anyone that tries to scam you. Sorry about that, guys. Love you all!”
This is just another reminder to stay extra cautious when you’re online.
