It’s been over two months since the season finale of Hope Valley: 1874, and we’re still talking about it.
The When Calls the Heart prequel premiered in March on Hallmark+, and fans got to see how Hope Valley came to be. The show starred Bethany Joy Lenz and Benjamin Ayres, and already has legions of fans wondering about season 2.
Will there be a new season of Hope Valley: 1874 in 2026?
Unfortunately, Hope Valley: 1874 will not return with new episodes in 2026.
But there’s no need to worry. Hallmark announced in May 2026 that Hope Valley: 1874 had been renewed for season 2, and Joy teased a timeframe for the premiere.
“I am so thrilled to announce that 1874 is coming back. Season 2,” she stated in the clip at the time. “We’ll see you in 2027 for an all-new season.”
Despite the long wait for Hope Valley: 1874 season 2, fans were nonetheless excited.
“Yay!!! Can’t wait. Wish it was starting sooner lol,” one person wrote in the comments. “Congratulations to the cast and crew of Hope Valley 1874!!! I love this series! So excited for season 2,” another agreed. “Absolutely wonderful show and can't wait for it to return ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” a different follower added.
Michelle Vicary, head of programming, Hallmark Media, sang the show’s praises to Deadline in May.
“Hope Valley: 1874’s dream cast led by Bethany Joy Lenz, Benjamin Ayres, and Jill Hennessy has brought to life the rich characters and beautiful story crafted by showrunner Alfonso Moreno,” she said. “Our fans and press alike have enthusiastically embraced the series, making it especially rewarding to continue telling this story.”
