Jeopardy! contestants clearly possess a lot of knowledge. But did you know that in order to compete on the long-running trivia show that’s now hosted by former winner Ken Jennings — rest in peace Alex Trebek — the participants must pass a test and ace an audition. Once they’re on the show, many have been able to sweep a category (or multiple) with relative ease and leave their competitors in the dust. But sometimes, they get stumped on a question.

These 40 tough Jeopardy! questions are "triple stumpers" — meaning not a single one of the episode's three players could successfully answer them. Test yourself to see if you could successfully answer the questions they couldn’t on the spot. Even if you can only answer one correctly, you can declare a small victory and consider yourself smarter than a Jeopardy! contestant.
