Victoria Beckham’s blonde moment continues! Posh has already been leaning into lighter hair, but now she’s gone a step further – by single-handedly reviving the noughties ombré blonde trend for summer 2026. Not only that, it’s a look that immediately lifts her whole face, adding radiance and glow to her skin.

Victoria showed off her latest hair makeover in Paris, where she was spotted strolling through the streets with noticeably brighter, lighter locks. The woven-in blonde tones still begin as a subtle sprinkle around her cheekbones but now swiftly blur into a chic block of blonde from her collarbones down.

Victoria can’t take her hands off her eye-catching new hair

Victoria’s glamorous new look was completed with soft, beachy waves, sunglasses and signature pout. Oh, and a casual bit of hair fondling that will be familiar to anyone who’s just stepped out of the salon and is feeling very, very pleased with their new ’do.

Victoria is rocking the ombre look

And rightly so, because VB is a woman with her finger on the pulse. Ombré hair – which beauty veterans may recall being a huge hair trend back in the noughties – has been predicted for a major comeback by trendsetters.

And now that Victoria has rubber-stamped its return, expect to see ombré everywhere this summer.

It’s a perfect switch-up for this time of year, says celebrity hairdresser and Studio23 founder Jason Collier, who has been on bob-cutting duty for Victoria before. ‘This look works so well on Victoria because the darker root complements her complexion and signature style, while the brighter blonde through the lengths instantly softens and freshens her overall look. It catches the light beautifully, making the hair appear healthier and fuller.’

Bye bye balayage, Posh is in her ombre era

‘As we head into summer, people naturally want a lighter, brighter look without committing to an all-over blonde,’ adds Jason, who is key opinion leader at Jerome Russell Bblonde. ‘Ombré offers that sun-kissed effect while maintaining richness at the root, making it feel effortless, expensive and incredibly wearable.’

How is Victoria reinventing ombre hair?

This is definitely her blondest look in years, says Jason. ‘The biggest difference isn’t just the lighter ends; it’s the stronger contrast between her deeper brunette root and those bright, creamy blonde lengths. It’s a much more defined ombré than we’ve seen for a while, which feels like a modern revival of the trend.’

‘Rather than the heavily blended balayage we’ve become used to, this has a more deliberate light-to-dark transition that adds depth, movement and dimension, while still looking incredibly polished.’

Does ombré suit mature women?

Take a look at Victoria, 52: the answer is yes, yes, yes! ‘Ombré is one of the most flattering colour techniques for older women because it creates brightness around the face without the harsh upkeep of a solid blonde,’ Jason tells us.

‘The lighter lengths reflect light, giving the hair a more youthful, healthy appearance, while the darker root provides depth that helps hair look thicker and more dimensional. It also grows out beautifully, so you’re not tied into frequent root appointments. It’s a softer, more forgiving way to embrace lighter shades while maintaining sophistication.’

How can I get the ombré look right?

Ask your colourist for a soft, face-framing ombré with strategically placed highlights that become progressively lighter through the mid-lengths and ends. (This is a sophisticated spin, not a grungey dip-dye.) ‘The key is keeping enough depth at the root so the grow-out remains seamless,’ adds Jason.

‘To maintain the look, focus on keeping the blonde hydrated with nourishing masks and bond-repairing treatments, and use a purple shampoo once a week to keep brassiness at bay.’ He recommends Jerome Russell Bblonde No Yellow Shampoo

‘One of the biggest advantages of ombré is that it’s incredibly low maintenance. You can enjoy a brighter summer colour without needing root touch-ups every few weeks, making it ideal for anyone wanting maximum impact with minimal salon visits.’

Happy, laid-back summer hair, here we come. Thanks, VB!
