Spring, surprisingly, is my favourite season to dress for. Of course, there’s something especially exciting about finding the ultimate summer dress, a perfectly matched linen co-ord or a pair of chic sandals, but for me, nothing quite compares to discovering the quintessential lightweight jacket that will carry you through the in-between season.

Enter the blouson, a stylish jacket that captures the idea of a lightweight layer with ease. Designed with a loose, floaty silhouette, perfect for unpredictable spring temperatures, this genius style is endlessly versatile.

Combine that with the elasticated waistband of a classic bomber and you have a chic, yet comfortable staple that does double duty. The best one I found so far? John Lewis’s blouson sleeve jacket.

Of course, if you think this jacket looks familiar - it does. You'll probably notice that the high street staple takes inspiration from French designer brand Chloé, with creative director Chemena Kamali endorsing stylish blouson styles for spring 2026. John Lewis's looks suspiciously similar, except there's one big difference - the price. The high street style is £1566 less than the original.

Featuring a flattering, liquid like drape that looks especially chic and better yet, doesn't crease, the jacket is an excellent addition to your spring wardrobe. It also comes with cool collar detailing akin to a bomber jacket, as well as side pockets, perfect for extra storage when out running errands.

As for styling, pieces in muted tones such as brown, grey and white tones will work perfectly and compliment the style. But, if you're looking to truly tap into the trends of spring, consider wearing with a pop of colour - think light blue, blush pink and lemon yellow.
