Come spring, there’s an unwritten fashion rule: your wardrobe must turn a couple of shades lighter. Think pretty pastels and easy neutrals that work effortlessly for the transitional season, especially as we approach the summer months.
There is, however, one popular shade that some still consider daunting to wear: white. It’s a fresh hue that many avoid for fear of spills or picking up marks while running errands. Yet once you get over that hesitation (read: learn to be a little less clumsy), you’ll start to wonder how you ever put together a spring outfit without a pair of white jeans.
Understandably, then, plenty of stylish women turn to this denim staple once the mercury starts to rise (though plenty have also proven they work even in the cooler months, too). Sienna Miller, for instance, typically dusts off her trusted white jeans come spring, as does the Princess of Wales, who has been spotted wearing the style since 2007. We suspect the royal still has a few in regular rotation.
While these women may spend a small fortune on white denim, the high street offers plenty of similar styles at far more affordable price points. From Uniqlo to M&S (I’ve just picked up a pair from the former), I’ve rounded up six of the best white jeans to shop now -perfect for staying on trend and making transitional dressing that much easier.
