It’s no secret that I love clothes. That said, when the sun is out, the last thing I want to do is work up a sweat searching for the perfect outfit. That’s why I rely on co-ords in the heat: they make getting dressed effortless while still looking polished and put together. So, as a self-proclaimed co-ord connoisseur, I can confidently say Next is one of the best places to shop them.
Currently at the top of my wish list is their latest arrival, a chic, crisp white two-piece lifted by contrasting chocolate brown broderie detailing. Better yet, if you fall into the 5ft 3in or under category, like me, the set is also available (and fully-stocked) in petite lengths.
Featuring a floaty white button up shirt, the top part offers an airy fit and relaxed drop-shoulder silhouette – elevated by pretty scalloped detailing along the hem and sleeves.
Completing the look is a matching skort, which immediately caught my eye. While I’m not usually one for miniskirts, a skort feels far more wearable to me, offering all the comfort and ease of shorts, but with a much more feminine finish. It’ll also make petite legs look longer in an instant.
It’s a co-ord that’s begging to be packed into a holiday suitcase. The beauty of a matching set is that it can be styled together or worn separately, instantly creating a plethora of outfit options. Great news then, when luggage space is limited on international flights.
The co-ord, paired with a kitten heel and chic raffia bag, is an easy solution for alfresco dressing. Meanwhile, the skort would work just as well styled with a boxy chocolate brown tee and sandals for strolling along sun-drenched cobblestone streets.
Or, if you plan to remain on UK soil this summer, the shirt would look effortlessly chic teamed with your favourite jeans and woven flats.
