If you’ve just had the penny-dropping moment that you need a new swimsuit, and you’re thinking: “Oh no! I missed the boat. All the best styles will be sold out” do not fret for another second.
Because M&S know us better than we know ourselves at this point – and have the data to back it up. That data no doubt tells them something like: “there’s a huge surge in interest in last minute swimsuits at the start of July from women who are too busy to buy them until a week before their holiday.”
Thanks to this, today M&S released updates of their best styles in new colours. Hooray!
Tummy Control Plunge Front
I’ll start with the tummy control plunge front swimsuit in a psychedelic khaki animal print, or a brown and white graphic animal inspired stripe. It’s sexy, flattering, holds you in, and you can also wear it with tailored chino shorts or lightweight white trousers as a going out top. I especially like that it doesn't actually look like a tummy control swimsuit. And it's fully stocked – get out the klaxons!
Tummy Control Deep Plunge
If print is not for you, and you favour your plunge-front to be sexier and closer in vibe to a body-con dress than a swimsuit, M&S tummy control "deep plunge" comes in summer's most popular fashion shade, soft sky blue. It also comes with removable padding and wide straps. This style does come in five other colours, but the soft blue has the most stock available.
The 'U-Notch'
M&S ‘U-Notch’ swimsuit is one of its swimwear icons. This summer it comes in white (mostly sold out), brown (half sold out) but today they released a version in petrol blue which is fully stocked. The straps are removable for even tanning, and while it is not a tummy control style, it will streamline your shape. This style is so chic, you can throw on a floaty midi skirt and flat sandals with it, pop on a wide-brimmed hat and head for lunch.
Baywatch Babe
If you favour chic minimalism, love having a proper swim and would also like to nod to your fashion knowledge, you can’t go wrong with M&S “pop of red” sculpted scoop-neck panelled swimsuit. It features a front scoop, a low back scoop and panelling through the body to refine your shape, and it’s practical for swimming. Your Baywatch moment awaits.
Cleavage Tamer
If you need a harder working swimsuit to hold you in at the waist and tame your cleavage, M&S stock the Pour Moi brand, whose swimwear is made to give you your best beach day with no niggling self-doubt. Their ‘Sicily’ polka dot tummy control V-neck swimsuit comes in black and white or blue and white and will deliver all you need.
Tropical Tummy Control
Finally, to my personal favourite, the tummy control printed bandeau swimsuit, which comes in an extremely elegant palm-tree print with removable straps. It is fully stocked from size 8 to size 24 the time of writing and will bring elegance and confidence to your holiday style.
