Sometimes, the simplest pieces in our wardrobes are the ones that work the hardest. A great pair of jeans, a crisp white shirt and an elevated tee can make getting dressed ridiculously easy.
Earlier this year, we here on the GH fashion desk spotted a Zara caped T-shirt that ticked all of the above boxes with ease. Thanks to its dramatic, floaty sleeves and relaxed silhouette, the under £20 (£19.99, to be exact) style offered a fresh take on the classic tee and could be paired with just about everything in your wardrobe, from jeans to coordinating trousers.
If you thought it couldn't get any chicer, however, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Zara has once again reimagined the elevated basic, giving us another reason to embrace the statement sleeve trend with its new Flowing Shirt with Ruffle Sleeves.
Designed in a burnt orange hue that taps into the citrus shades taking over this summer, this version feels like a more premium take on the bestselling caped style from the high street fashion favourite. Its simple round neckline is complemented by flowing, ruffled sleeves, which add plenty of movement and charm to what might otherwise look like a classic blouse.
And it gets bonus points for versatility, too. It's what we'd call a true transitional piece - the sort of top that will prove particularly useful as we head towards autumn. Wear it with wide leg jeans and ballet flats while the weather is still warm (may we remind you, it's set to reach 35°C tomorrow?), before pairing it with tailored trousers and loafers when the new season arrives.
