M &S continues to blow us away with its forward-thinking and genius food innovation this year. And next up to impress us? These seriously delicious-looking Pizza Pockets, which trump a soggy sandwich any day of the week.

We've already seen shoppers go wild for stuffed croissants, loaded pastries and extra thick focaccia concoctions, but these feel like the next evolution of the grab-and-go lunch. Think all the flavours of your favourite pizza, wrapped up in a fluffy dough that's designed to be eaten hot. Think of it as a calzone but way easier to eat with your hands.

We've spotted two flavours in the range (so far): Chicken Fajita Pizza Pocket and Margherita Pizza Pocket. But we've also spotted a Butter Chicken and a Chicken Shawarma flatbread that looks like a similar style of lunch.

The Chicken Fajita is filled with tender chicken with smoky spices, peppers and a rich tomato sauce, delivering all the flavours of a fajita and a pizza in one neat package. Meanwhile, the Margherita Pizza Pocket takes a more classic approach, filled with sweet tomato sauce and mature cheddar cheese for a comforting, crowd-pleasing option.

A quick blast in the oven or air fryer (which is recommended) is all these need and then they are transformed into something that probably rivals that takeaway pizza you order.

We can already imagine taking one of these to the office or reaching for it when the afternoon hunger hits. And we're calling it now: these are the hot lunch everyone will be swapping their sad desk sandwiches for this summer.

The Margherita Pizza costs £4.45 for 200g, whilst the Chicken Fajita costs £4.75 for 200g and are available in M&S food halls now.
