Aldi is making school holidays more bearable next week thanks to the budget supermarket announcing they are giving away thousands of free ice creams in London to help families cool off as temperatures climb once again and the school holidays get underway.

On Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 July, Aldi's Summer Cool Down ice cream van will be parked up at Clapham Common, handing out complimentary frozen treats between 11am and 3pm, but you might want to get there early as it's only while stocks last.

Visitors will be able to choose from a selection of Aldi favourites, including the supermarket's new White Chocolate & Mango Ice Cream (which are seriously delicious and like a Magnum dupe) and its Chocolate & Hazelnut Ice Cream Cones. All for absolutely nothing!

The supermarket says it's expecting to sell more than 20 million ice creams over the school holidays after soaring temperatures earlier this summer sent sales up by 73%, with more than 2.5 million ice creams sold in a single week.

If you can't make it to Clapham Common, Aldi says its range of ice creams will remain topped up in stores throughout the summer, with prices starting from £1.15.

The free ice creams will be handed out on a first come, first served basis while stocks last, so if you're planning to stop by, it's worth arriving early. With another spell of warm weather forecast and school holidays in full swing, we can't imagine they'll stick around for long.
