The iconic French cookware brand, Le Creuset has just unveiled its latest shade, and if you've been dreaming of an upgraded pop of colour to your kitchen, now is the time to clear some shelf space.

Meet Forêt, a deep matte forest green that looks like a sophisticated older sibling to Le Creuset's famous Volcanic orange. It's rich, earthy and finished with elegant light gold accents, and takes inspiration from dense woodlands and the growing trend for bringing natural, calming colours into our homes.

The collection is now live online, and spans everything from Le Creuset's famous cast iron casseroles to mugs, teapots, cafetières and even its iconic whistling kettle. In other words, whether you're ready to invest in your dream Dutch oven or simply fancy a new mug for your morning tea, there's something for every budget.

We're usually team Volcanic orange (it's a classic for a reason), but this rich green might almost trump our favourite colour. All we know is you can never have too many Le Creuset items in the home, so perhaps a new mug or salt mill is in order. This new colour is bold without being overpowering, timeless and feels like the sort of colour that could happily live on your hob for decades.

If you've ever wondered if Le Creuset's Cast Iron Casseroles are worth the money, our Good Housekeeping Institute team have rigorously tested all the cast iron casseroles on the market to find the best.

If you've been waiting for an excuse to finally invest in a piece of Le Creuset, we'd argue this might be one of the brand's most beautiful launches in years. It's a colour that somehow manages to feel both completely new and like it's always belonged in the kitchen – exactly what Le Creuset does best.
