Call the Midwife viewers were certainly wanting to celebrate Sister Frances (Ella Bruccoleri) in a big way after she passed a huge milestone.
Sunday night's episode (February 24), which also served as the penultimate episode of the current eighth series, saw a nervous Frances given the chance to deliver her first baby ever and she totally — ahem — delivered.
For her troubles, Francis was rewarded "an extra egg and an additional slice of bacon" at breakfast — but at least viewers are thrilled for her.
Below are just a few of their reactions:
"I know we’ve had like ten thousand births on this show but absolutely made up for Sister Frances there," said one viewer.
"Yay Sister Frances! I had a little tear," added another.
What to read next
"I knew Sister Frances would do it on her own! Can’t believe how proud I am of a fictional character," said another.
Next week's episode of Call the Midwife will be the last of its current eighth season.
And if there's one thing for certain, it's that fans will certainly miss this heartbreaking and equally triumphant series afterwards — though there is hope for more series.
Woohoo!
Call the Midwife continues next Sunday (March 3) on BBC One.
