This isn't the first time a pink blazer has made a sartorial splash, and if it's good enough for Lady Di... The traditionally masculine silhouette might seem at odds with the bold pink, but the pair work beautifully together, conjuring an air of power and sophistication. So, it’s unsurprising that Nigella, another people’s Princess, has donned one in this week’s Bake Off.
She’s served up a few blazer looks in the tent by now. Remember her chocolate-brown ME+EM choice for her blazer-off with Alison just a couple of weeks ago, as well as the turquoise-blue Boden jacket before that? This week, Nigella looked pretty in pink in yet another ME+EM number, made from a soft Lyocell and cotton blend, with a bouclé finish. It's slightly cinched at the waist, which flatters all the right places. Oh, and did we mention it’s currently 50% off?
She’s no stranger to a bold colourway, as shown by her trending colbalt blue shirt last week. So, of course she opted for a dazzling pink, even though the jacket is also available in navy – still a good choice if you prefer something a little more classic.
We think the unique colourway deserves a matching pair of pink suit trousers to go all out with. The statement piece would look just as striking with jeans or over a midi dress, though. Nigella doubled down with a matching pink top, but it would look just as fab with a plain white or black T-shirt underneath.
The exact jacket is still available, but there’s a range of other shades, styles, brands and price ranges available. From pastel to deep fuchsia, we’ve selected some of our other favourites below, if you also want to be a pink lady
