Now autumn is giving way to the winter weather, we're all looking for ways to bolster our wardrobes with pieces that are just that little bit warmer and more robust. And that's exactly why the Princess of Wales' practical but stylish riding boots caught our eye.
The Princess of Wales has a pair of trust knee-high leather riding boots in chocolate brown which she's been photographed wearing multiple times over the years - for over two decades, in fact. They were first seen publicly in 2004, and again in 2016 (while exploring Great Bear Rainforest in Bella Bella, Canada) and 2018 (during a visit to an activity centre in London).
Kate's exact boots are the £475 leather pair by Penelope Chilvers and they're currently in stock at Next (at time of writing) although some sizes are beginning to sell out. The same pair was even worn by the actress (Meg Bellamy) who played Kate in The Crown.
Alternatively, this real leather pair from Dune are currently on sale, reduced from £159 to £111 (at time of writing). They have a buckle detail which is similar to Kate's original pair.
However, you're looking for something a little more affordable, Primark's 'Faux Leather Knee High Boots' are a great choice for £26, and channel the same look and chocolate colour, but at a fraction of the price. It's worth remembering that these are faux leather, however, so they won't be as hard-wearing as the real thing:
The Princess of Wales has worn her own pair of riding boots for more than two decades, making them on of her most trusted wardrobe staples. A trust pair of comfortable boots are an absolute essential for winter, and never go out of style - as proven by Kate.
