Remember when Jodie Comer blew us all away as Villanelle in Killing Eve? Yes, that. Well, it turns out she has another series that’s even better than Killing Eve (in our humble opinion), which goes by the name of Remember Me - and the 10/10 crime drama is available to watch tonight.
The series is something of a ghost story, which stars Jodie as care assistant Hannah Ward who finds her life turned upside down by the arrival of an elderly patient named Tom Parfitt (Michael Palin). Shortly after he enters his new residence, the social worker who delivered him falls from the fourth floor window of Tom’s room to her death - and there's only one witness: Tom.
Not only does Jodie give an incredible performance in the lead role, she also sings the title song. “I liked singing as Hannah though, as it really shows all aspects of her and adds to the whole atmosphere," she told the BBC. "They ended up using it for the opening titles too."
With the series available to watch tonight (or now, if you fancy it), here’s everything you need to know about Remember Me before you tune in, including the plot, cast and how to watch it.
What is Remember Me about?
The three-part drama, which first aired on the BBC in 2014, introduces us to Tom Parfitt (Michael Palin), a frail, old Yorkshireman who’s seemingly alone in the world. His life is, however, about to take a strange turn when, after faking an accident, he’s admitted to a nursing home.
Soon after arriving, he becomes the sole witness to a violent death. The social worker who delivered him falls out of a window, taking the entire frame with her - and the only other person in the room was Tom. So what exactly happened – was it an accident, or did Tom have something to do with it?
Teenage care assistant, Hannah (Jodie Comer), and investigating police detective, Rob Fairholme (Mark Addy), try to unravel the riddle of Tom’s mysterious history, and are drawn into an eerie - and increasingly dangerous - world of lost love and betrayal. One by one, strange things begin happening to those in contact with Tom, including Hannah and her family, and Tom soon vanishes from his hospital bed without an explanation.
Describing her character, Jodie told the BBC: “Hannah works in a care home but it’s not her first love, she wants to go to university and spread her wings, but because of the circumstances at home she can’t. What really attracted me to the role is that she is just so compassionate and caring and she has this ability to keep things together, even when there’s so much going on at home, the fact she’s still able to look after other people and forget about her own problems is inspiring.
“I like that she is the rock in the family; her mum and brother really rely on her. Throughout the series she becomes a rock for the other characters too and they confide in her and trust her. I love how strong she is, her personality and the relationships she forms with other people - especially with Tom.”
As we mentioned, Jodie sings the soundtrack – an eerie version of the folk song Scarborough Fair – which wasn't exactly part of the plan when she auditioned for the role. She told the BBC: "Nothing really got mentioned about the singing during the audition, so when it came round and they asked if I could sing I was like ‘Oh, OK!’ – I’m no Whitney Houston, but I can hold a tune! I used to sing when I was into local theatre but gave it up to concentrate on dance.
“When people hear it, they’re probably going to be expecting the Simon and Garfunkel version but ours is much more traditional and quite different. The version I sing is really good for the atmosphere of the episodes as it is quite eerie.”

How can I watch Remember Me?
All three episodes of Remember Me are available to watch now on ITVX.
Is Remember Me any good?
Yes – the cast, for one, is exceptional. Michael Palin is brilliantly mischievous as Tom, while Jodie Comer gives what is, in our opinion, one of the most compelling performances of her career. We should warn you, though, that this isn’t a series for the faint-hearted - it’s a genuinely unnerving watch that may have you sleeping with the lights on after you’ve binged it!
What other Jodie Comer dramas can I watch now?
For one of Jodie’s most moving performances, we’d recommend Help. Jodie plays a care home assistant who goes to extraordinary lengths to protect her patients – including Tony (Stephen Graham) when the pandemic hits. You can watch Help on Channel 4. If you’re a period drama fan, we’d suggest The White Princess. The series centres around the marriage of Henry VII (Jacob Collins-Levy) and Elizabeth of York (Jodie Comer), which ended the Wars of the Roses by bringing together the houses of Lancaster and York. The White Princess is available to watch on Prime Video.
