Adrian Dunbar has revealed that he thinks Line of Duty "could go on forever".

Ahead of the series five finale this weekend, the Ted Hastings actor appeared on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday (April 30), where he was grilled by presenters Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid about his potential 'H' status.

While he was keeping pretty tight-lipped about spoilers, Adrian did let slip that he thinks Line of Duty could have many more series left in it – just as long as the show's writer and creator Jed Mercurio can keep producing top-notch scripts.

Now that's more like it, fella.

"Is there more Line of Duty?" Piers asked." Where are we? You can't leave it on a high like this? Never quit a hit, they say."

"I don't know," Adrian said. "We'll have to wait and see.

What to read next

"The standard of the writing is so high, you know. If Jed keeps doing it, we could go on forever."

So, what about the possibility that fan-favourite Ted is indeed H?

"I can't answer that question," Adrian added.

Regardless of how long Line of Duty can go on for, a sixth series is definitely in the works.

Line of Duty continues at 9pm on Sunday (May 5) on BBC One. Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV.
