Bridgerton showrunner Chris Van Dusen has marked the end of production on season 2.
Netflix's steamy period hit is set to return to screens next year sometime – minus the Duke of Hastings himself, Regé-Jean Page – and last weekend marked the final days of filming on the second series as the cast and crew made their last contributions ahead of editing.
Showrunner Chris Van Dusen confirmed that production had wrapped on season 2 in a Twitter post as he shared a behind-the-scenes photo featuring himself and the series' two leads, Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley.

"That's a wrap on Season Two!" he wrote. "So proud of this cast and crew who brought their A-games to work each and every day in this very challenging year. And these two in this photo with me right here.
"Words are not enough. Coming in in 2022. #Bridgerton #SeasonTwo #BuckleUp."
After wrapping up the love story of the Duke of Hastings and Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) in season one, the second season of the hit Netflix show is set to focus on eldest Bridgerton sibling Anthony (Bailey) as he decides it's finally time he settles down with a wife of his own.
While Anthony sets his sights on this season's new incomparable, Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran), it's not long before her sister Kate (Ashley) ends up disrupting all of Anthony's plans.

Meanwhile, Penelope Featherington actress Nicola Coughlan recently teased how viewers will get a closer peep at her character's private life in the new episodes.
"I think it's safe to say that you do. And you know, those final moments of series 1 was definitely a peek into her life. I think in series 2 you kind of see how the sausage gets made and all that's happening," she explained.
"I felt very lucky when I got given the script to series two, like when you're an actor in a show already... [and] they've just given [me] so much good stuff."
Bridgerton season 1 is now available to watch on Netflix. Season 2 is expected to premiered in 2022.
