If you're a reality TV fan - or simply enjoy a peek inside other people's houses and lives - you'll want to know about the rumoured housewives-style show that everyone's talking about. If rumours are indeed to be believed, we could be about to see the lives of the Cotswolds elite played out on screen.

According to a number of reports, a new reality TV series is currently underway, which will follow a group of wealthy women in one of the most picturesque parts of the UK. There's been plenty of speculation about what the series could involve, including who could star in the new show. Here's everything we've heard so far...

Will there be a Housewives of the Cotswolds?

Many outlets have reported that the reality TV show is being planned by the team behind Channel 4's Grand Designs, Naked Productions, and that they have their sights set on the women of the Cotswolds. One title rumoured to be considered for the show is The Ladies of the Cotswolds, as 'Real Housewives' is already a separate franchise, which Naked Productions are not behind.

There are many of housewife-style series filmed everywhere from Beverly Hills to Cheshire, but so far the Cotswolds has remained untouched. Most series following 'housewives' - or glamorous women from a particular location - are set in the US, although The Real Housewives of Cheshire and Ladies of London are popular in the UK.

Similar shows set in other UK locations - for instance the short-lived Desperate Scousewives, set in Liverpool - haven't always done well, but broader reality shows like The Only Way is Essex and Made in Chelsea, have endured. Could the Cotswolds series be the next big success?

Where might the series be set?

Of course, the Cotswolds isn't a town, but a more than 2,000km squared area which encompasses many villages, multiple towns and even three cities. Reportedly, it's the town of Charlbury that's top of the show-maker's wish-lists. It's a pretty and historic town, which sees it's fair share of famous visitors, with various festivals such as Wilderness hosted nearby. However, there are rumours that locals - and even some of the luxury hotels and businesses which would make ideal shooting locations - aren't keen to get onboard with a potential show.
