GH’s Fit (Enough) Club is for women who like treats but also fancy getting healthier. It’s also about community – bringing women together to cheer on themselves and each other. And we all need to work on working out, because fewer women than men meet the recommended physical activity targets.

Many of us don’t have the time or (whisper it) inclination to train for a Really Big Run. But what if you could sign up to a more achievable target? That’s where the Fit (Enough) Five Million Step Challenge comes in. On the weekend of 4 and 5 July, we’re putting women’s fitness firmly on the map.

We’re asking GH readers across the UK to head to your local parks, pavements, tracks and fields. You can run, jog and walk, or wheel, skip or line dance if you want. Just tell us how many steps you’re covering. It might be 10,000 (that’s around 5 miles) or far more or less. It all adds up. When you share your step pledges with us, we’ll tot them up into a grand GH total. We’re aiming for 5 million – a step change in women’s fitness, taken together.
