The Academy Awards is the most prestigious event in the Hollywood calendar and each year stars come suitably dressed for the occasion. Of all the red carpets of awards season, premieres and glamorous events, the Oscars is by far the most glitzy – and this year’s line-up was no different. While all eyes were on the doors of the Dolby Theatre as stars arrived for the ceremony, it’s important to remember the oh-so-exclusive Oscars after-parties, too, where guests often opt for a dramatic outfit change.
This year, our eyes were on Demi Moore, who opted for not one but two bird-inspired looks. Feathers, feathers, feathers was the memo for her first gown, which had a peacock feel thanks to the striking green sheen over the feathers surrounding her waistline and skirt. Demi’s stunning dress cinched in at the waist, flowed down to a mermaid train and fanned up and out from the bodice to frame her face. The dress was entirely covering in black and shimmering green feathers, which created a stunning, peacock-inspired look.
Later in the evening, however, it was all change for Demi, who had another feathery look up her sleeve to attend the exclusive Vanity Fair after-party. Arriving at the event, Demi was seen in a completely new outfit, which seemed to have taken inspiration from a different bird – this time, an ostrich. Demi’s black off-the-shoulder gown channelled Audrey Hepburn’s iconic Breakfast At Tiffany’s look – complete with elbow-length opera gloves. However, Demi brought the outfit to life with a flavour of her own style, thanks to a fabulous feathered stole.
The star wrapped the floor-length garment around her shoulders to create a bold, statement shape. She posed with it in various positions throughout the evening to create multiple silhouettes with the one look – genius.
During the main awards ceremony at the Dolby Theatre, Demi look to the stage to present the award for Best Cinematography, which went to the first ever woman winner of the category, Autumn Durald Arkapaw for Sinners. Also on the evening, she was spotted taking part in an iconic selfie with fellow stars including Emma Stone, Dave McCary and Kate Hudson.
The biggest films nominated on the night included Hamnet, Sinners and One Battle After Another. Hamnet was nominated in eight categories, taking home Best Actress thanks to Jessie Buckley, while Michael B Jordan won Best Actor for Sinners. One Battle After Another picked up six prizes, making it the biggest winner at this year’s awards.
