When was the last time you watched a series that left you physically shaken? If the answer is a long time ago, we’re about to introduce you to a series that will do exactly that. Wrong Move is the creepy new Channel 4 thriller, which stars the always brilliant Eve Myles (pictured about in Keeping Faith) and Rory Kinnear as a couple who find themselves in a property-related nightmare - and it's utterly chilling TV.
The series, which is currently being filmed, immerses us in the worlds of three families hoping to make moves that will dramatically change their lives. But they’ll soon discover that when you have dangerous sociopath Trevor (David Thewlis) at the top of the property chain, moving house can very quickly turn into your worst nightmare.
While we patiently wait for Wrong Move to arrive on our screens, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming series, including the plot, full cast and when we’re expecting it to be released.
What is Wrong Move about?
The six-part thriller will introduce us to three families who find themselves in property hell – quite literally. 40-somethings Michael (Rory Kinnear) and Catherine (Eve Myles) are making a marriage-saving move by buying their dream 'forever home', while selling their old whom to parents-to-be Stella (Eleanor Tomlinson) and Juliette (Gwyneth Keyworth). The latter couple are selling to first-time buyers Asif (Ali Khan) and Emily (Evie Kaisi) and it would all be far more straightforward if they didn’t have psychopath Trevor Bamford (David Thewlis) at the top of the chain.
You see, Trevor is obsessed with getting his money’s worth and, in the ultimate act of manipulation, he calls the move off the night before the sale, which in turn causes hell for everyone else. And as the buyers come together to try to find a solution, a confrontation has deadly consequences.
Channel 4’s official synopsis continues: “Packed with twists and turns, Wrong Move delves into the complicated lives of the people trying to take the next steps in their lives, and the misguided notion that moving house can fix everything. The truth is you can move, but your problems come with you.”
What to read next
Gwawr Lloyd, Interim Head of Drama at Channel 4 says:“Wrong Move is a gripping, bold thriller that captures the pressure of moving house and reveals the hidden lives of both the vendors and the buyers. Alex Smith, Creative Director at production company, Roughcut, added: “Wrong Move takes the seemingly ordinary world of the property chain and reveals the power, ambition and human cost beneath it. Channel 4 is the ideal partner for this thrilling new series from Ben Edwards’ brilliant mind and we are very excited to work with them and continue growing Roughcut’s slate of hit dramas.”

How can I watch Wrong Move?
Channel 4 hasn’t yet shared a release date for Wrong Move, but we do know that filming is currently underway in West Yorkshire, so we’d expect it to arrive on our screens towards the end of 2026 at the earliest. As soon as we have a confirmed date, we’ll update you here.
What other Eve Myles dramas can I watch now?
If you’re a fan of detective dramas, we’d recommend Gone. The series stars Eve as gutsy Detective Annie Cassidy who's investigating the mysterious disappearance of Bristol woman, Sarah. And who is she most suspicious of? Sarah’s husband, Headmaster Michael Polly (David Morrissey). You can watch Gone now on ITVX. For something a little creepier, we’d suggest The Guest. The story sees an intense friendship between business owner, Fran (Eve Myles), and her employee, Ria (Gabrielle Creevy), turn increasingly manipulative – and dangerous. The Guest is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
