As we mentioned, the film, which first debuted in 2021 to much fanfare, is an adaptation of the hit West End musical of the same name. It's inspired by the true story of 16-year-old Jamie Campbell (Max Harwood), a schoolboy from Sheffield who overcomes prejudice, bullying and prejudice, and assumes the spotlight as a drag queen.

Jamie dreams of being on stage and with the help of his best friend Pritti (Lauren Patel) and loving mum (Sarah Lancashire), and local drag legend Miss Loco Chanelle (Richard E. Grant), he makes a plan to come out at the school prom and debut at a drag show at the local club. But not everyone is quite so supportive; his father (Ralph Ineson), uninspired careers advisor (Sharon Horgan), and many of his fellow classmates are challenging, to say the least
