Look, behind every stylish woman is a mother who imparted such fashion wisdom to them. So it’s only right that, now and again, mums sit on the other side of the mother-daughter style recreations, by wearing outfits inspired by their daughters. A great example of that? Surely the always-stylish Carole Middleton, who has recently borrowed a look from her daughter Catherine, Princess of Wales.
Attending Wimbledon today, Carole opted for a blue blazer over a long white dress from ME + EM. That's just a few days after Kate watched the tennis wearing – wait for it – a blue blazer (the Princess of Wales wore hers with matching trousers for a full suit… but a white top like Carole, too!).
FYI, while Kate’s blue blazer was by Gabriela Hearst and thus rather pricey at £1,920, there’s a very similar – and far more affordable – style that looks similar to both hers and Carole’s available at M&S.
Accessories-wise, we believe Carole’s bag is the Longchamp Le Roseau small crossbody bag (with the longer crossbody strap detached), while her shoes are a pair of white slingback flats.
Along with paying tribute to Kate, Carole continued her celebration of her children by attending Wimbledon with daughter Pippa, who wore the Naira dress from Reformation, which has a lovely red and white floral print along with puffed sleeves and a deep V neckline. Pippa completed her look with a J. Crew raffia bag and a pair of white stilettos.
The mother-daughter duo appeared to have a lovely day out at Wimbledon, chatting and laughing between sets as they sat behind Roger Federer and Debbie Jevans.
This isn’t the first time Carole Middleton has paid homage to the Royal family through her Wimbledon looks. Back in 2014, she attended the tennis tournament wearing a baby-blue tweed skirt suit that was very reminiscent of the Chanel suit Princess Diana wore to Prince William’s confirmation in 1997.
The whole Royal Family seem to be fans of this particular shade. Catherine, Princess of Wales, has been spotted wearing light blue to events including Royal Ascot, Trooping the Colour and Wimbledon on multiple occasions. And last week, Lady Louise Windsor opted for baby blue to receive the Duke of Edinburgh award from her father.
