With all eight episodes available to watch now, here’s everything you need to know about Cape Wrath, including the plot, cast and how to watch it.
What is Cape Wrath about?
We’ve all dreamed of starting a new life in a new place, for a fresh start – and perhaps the Brogan family got more than they bargained for when they made that wish. The eight-part series, which first aired on Channel 4 in 2007, introduces us to the nuclear family, made up of Danny (David Morrissey), his wife, Evelyn (Lucy Cohu), and their teenagers, Zoe (Felicity Jones) and Mark (Harry Treadaway). The series kicks off with them relocating to the epitome of picket-fence suburbia, a secluded community called Meadowlands. But there’s a twist – they’re actually in a witness protection scheme, on the run from a dark past.
It quickly becomes apparent that the utopian suburb is not as dreamlike as it seems. Their neighbours, including the handsome handyman Jack Donnelly (Tom Hardy), are harbouring dark secrets of their own.
A revenge murder rocks the town, followed by a frenzied cover-up and investigation. And if that wasn’t enough drama, there are multiple messy affairs and blackmail among the so-called harmonious community.
