If you thought your mind had been boggled by I Will Find You and Fool Me Once, we’ve uncovered a Harlan Coben-style series – and we’re still reeling from the shock of the ending. Behind Her Eyes is a world-class thriller with a jaw-dropping twist – that could seriously give the king of plot-twists a run for his money.
The centre of this psychological drama is a love triangle between the single mother Louise (Simona Brown), her boss David (Tom Bateman) and his wife, Adele (Eve Hewson). To say things between the trio get complicated would be an understatement, soon the two women get close and bond over their night terrors – Adele teaches Louise to transport herself through her dreams, and we are thrust into her psychological unravelling through past memories and trauma. But, how does this affair transpire? We can promise you – you’ll never guess!
With the drama available to watch now on Netflix, here’s everything you need to know about Behind Her Eyes, including the plot, cast and how to watch it.
What is Behind Her Eyes about?
Adapted from Sarah Pinborough’s bestselling novel of the same name, the six-part series, which first aired in 2021, introduces us to Louise (Simona Brown) a single mother strikes up a flirty relationship with a Scottish stranger, David (Tom Bateman) on a night out in London. When Monday comes around, she goes to her job as a secretary at a psychiatric practice, where she finds out the so-called stranger is her new boss, Dr David Ferguson.
She learns David is married and has recently moved into the area with his wife Adele (Eve Hewson). Louise and David start having an affair, but adding to the scandal is that Louise simultaneously strikes up a friendship with Adele – who confides in her about their marriage and mental health woes. The pair don’t only share the same taste in men, they both experience night terrors, and its about to get even stranger. Adele teachers her new friend into taking control of her dreams and coaches her in astral projection – she can travel to different moments in her life. But, as with most love triangles, things start to turn pretty sour...
In a series of flashbacks, we’re taken back to traumatic events in Adele’s life, such as her time in a rehab centre, and a house fire that killed her parents. And the astral projection only starts there, without giving too much away, the series culminates in an extremely explosive ending which left us gasping!

Her sister-in-law and best friend, Annabelle (Christine Bottomley) is dead, and The Wives join forces to investigate what actually happened to Annabelle – and it’s a belter of a ride!
