Gillian Anderson took a leaf out of the royal fashion book this week, taking her inspiration from the Princess of Wales' wardrobe as she stepped out in a stunning red dress by one of Kate's favourite designers, Emilia Wickstead.
Gillian was attending a script reading event in Beverly Hills, California, on Monday (28 July), and chose a bright red midi shirt dress for the occasion. The sleeveless dress featured a sharp collar and A-line shirt which she paired with nude heels and a soft red lip. Gillian looked glowing in the dress, wearing her hair swept up into a ponytail to allow the bold red of her look to reflect light onto her complexion.
The Princess of Wales frequently turns to Emilia Wickstead for her designs, particularly for important public appearances. In 2021, Kate also opted for red, this time in a festive shade to attend her Together at Christmas annual carol concert. The Princess has worn the designer's pieces at a range of events, from supporting her husband, Prince William, playing polo, to delivering a keynote speech in 2023, as part of her work with The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.
Emilia Wickstead's designs are publicly available to buy online, although - being designer - tend to have a higher price point. Gillian's dress is the 'Leontine Dress in Red Single Wool Crepe' for £1,350. It's available (at time of writing) online, although most sizes are already sold out.
Gillian was photographed outside a live script reading of the 2002 film Secretary, which she was performing alongside Hannah Einbinder, her co-star from her latest film, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma. Gillian had a quick change on the night, with two looks chosen for the event. Her second was another sleeveless midi dress, this time in white, which wore as she posed alongside Hannah a popcorn van at the venue.
According to IMDb, the pair's new film follows, 'a director making a slasher sequel becomes obsessed with casting the original film's "final girl," leading both women into psychological and sexual chaos.'
Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasmais on general release in the UK from 21 August, although preview screenings are being offered at individual venues.
