The series, which has already been a hit with viewers across the pond, sees Anna leave her city slicker life behind in an attempt to escape her past. These days, her focus is on solving crimes that have taken place within national park grounds - and it seems she won't let anyone - or anything - get in the way of doing so.

What is Anna Pigeon Mysteries about?

The eight-part series is based on the bestselling Anna Pigeon mystery series by Nevada Barr and follows former New Yorker Anna Pigeon (Tracy Spiridakos) who trades the hustle and bustle of the city for life as a park ranger. Anna wants nothing more than to escape her traumatic past, having lost her husband, and the mysteries she comes up against will certainly help her do it.

The drama kicks off with Anna toying with whether she should leave the park – but then she discovers the body of fellow ranger Sheila Drury. Sheila's death is blamed on a mountain Lion, but the explanation doesn’t sit right with Anna – and when she weighs up the evidence, it’s clear that there’s more to the story.

Her investigation soon leads her into the path of greedy landowner and rancher Jeremiah Paulson (Kim Coates), who becomes her arch-nemesis. In each subsequent episode, Anna takes on a new mystery, while her equally complicated personal life develops alongside them.

Tracy Spiridakos, who plays Anna, spoke to TV Insider about her character, explaining: "Anna is a very determined, stubborn, adventurous environmentalist. She’s going through grief, but she also tries to not take herself too seriously and has her moments of levity. She lives in between those worlds."
