The eight-part series which goes by the name of Neagley - thanks to its main character Frances Neagley - finds the former military protege of Jack Reacher investigating the death of a former childhood friend – and we’d highly recommend binge-watching it this weekend.
Frances Neagley now works at a bustling Chicago private investigations office where she has few friends but does a pretty sterling job. When she learns of the death of Tommy Crane (Jhaleil Swaby), she wants to know what happened – and her search for answers leads her deep into a dangerous conspiracy unlike anything she's seen before.

What is Neagley about?
The eight-part spin-off of Prime Video’s hit series, Reacher, sees Maria Sten reprise the titular role of Frances Neagley. Frances is a private investigator in Chicago and the former military protege of Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit.
When Frances learns that a close friend, Tommy Crane (Jhaleil Swaby), from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she’s determined to get justice. So, teaming up with Detective Hudson “Rats” Riley (Greyston Holt), Renee Birdwhistle (Adeline Rudolph) and Keno (Jasper Jones), she sets out on a dangerous path that leads her to Echo Canyon Farm.
The peaceful cult-like commune fronts an illegal black-market operation run by Lawrence Cole (Damon Herriman) and Invection Pharmaceuticals CEO Pierce Woodrow (Matthew Del Negro) and it seems Tommy had got involved with them during the latter part of his life. The question is, can Frances and her team crack the clues to determine who the real villain is?

Is Neagley any good?
Yes - if you’re a Reacher fan, you’ll almost certainly enjoy it. No spoilers, but there’s a real story to tell with Frances Neagley, so there are plenty of personal demons to work through while the main story plays out (we also learn what her haphephobia stems from). As for the plot itself, it’s genuinely absorbing as Frances and the team find themselves in way over their heads, grappling with something far bigger than anything they’ve dealt with before. Our rating? A solid 9/10.

For a crime drama that’ll transport you to another time, we’d recommend Taboo. The series takes us to the early 19th century when the War of 1812 is underway and adventurer James Keziah Delaney (Tom Hardy) returns to London for his father’s funeral to discover he’s inherited his dad’s shipping empire.
