Can you hear that sound? There, in the distance. A ringing of bells... jingle bells. Now we’re firmly in autumn, it’s just a hop, skip, and a jump (in a big pile of crunchy leaves, of course) until Christmas. And that means that fast approaching is party season. Are you ready?

If you are yet to even consider your outfit choices for all the festivities coming up, worry not. And fair enough – we’re still wearing our summer sandals. But as with so many other challenges to navigate, Pamela Anderson is here to help us all.

How so? Well, the actor touched down in Milan this week to attend the Vogue World event, and in doing so demonstrated the perfect formula to party dressing. Wearing a dramatic floor-length gown from Ferragamo, Pamela proved that getting dressed up doesn't require overthought. All you need is a big dose of shimmer.

To complete the look, Pamela opted for gold on top of gold with a chunky necklace, then chose a black handbag and shoes to match the hem of the dress.

Hair and make-up wise, the actor made a departure from her recent makeup-free aesthetic to instead go for a touch more edge. Old Hollywood curls gave Pamela’s chic bob a glamorous spin, while she went heavy on the liner to accentuate her piercing blue eyes, in a look she described as ‘Cleopatra inspiration, but modernised’. Pamela kept the rest of her makeup super pared back, noting in a video that she believes ‘skin looks better raw’, to keep her eyeliner from looking too heavy.

‘It’s going to go really nice with my Ferragamo,’ said Pamela, and she’s quite right. The hair and makeup is the perfect combination with that gold gown.

While not all of us will have access to Ferragamo and an expert makeup artist, we can all recreate the basic recipe for this look with ease. All you’ll need for party dressing is a metallic gown – and we’ve found a great one from Next for just £48. The long sleeves, full length and twist detail at the waist make it so flattering and easy to wear.
