When it comes to style inspiration from the Royal Family, it's a tough call between the Princess of Wales and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh. While there are distinct differences between the two and preferences they veer towards (Sophie; florals and geometric prints, Kate; block colours and polka dots), they do share some similarities (midi length dresses, favourite labels like Penelope Chilvers). There are even a few styles the pair share completely, with almost identical pieces in each of their wardrobe rotations - for example, their biscuit-coloured, striped blazers.
Both the Princess and the Duchess own similar beige blazers which they've worn on multiple occasions - and for good reason. The neutral shade is ideal for pairing with a range of looks and a blazer is an easy way to smarten up even the most casual of outfits. It also works year-round, but is especially useful as a quick cover up during this year's unseasonably warm autumn.
The Duchess of Edinburgh recently wore her own striped blazer in Glasgow, Scotland, for the 2026 Commonwealth Games this July. It was the same double-breasted, gold-buttoned choice by Max Mara which she wore during a meeting with Alan Titchmarsh earlier this year, about her Royal Windsor Flower Show garden:
Kate's own is a single-breasted version by Italian brand Blaze Milano, which she wore on her first official overseas trip since recovery from cancer treatment, to Reggio Emilia, Italy, in May.
