A bad night’s sleep can throw your whole day off, while chronic poor sleep can have a huge impact on both your physical and mental wellbeing.
In our recent sleep survey, 73% of GH readers told us they consistently struggle with their sleep and 48% aren’t getting the recommended 7-9 hours a night.
While poor sleep can be caused by a huge range of factors, sleeping easy starts with your bedroom set-up.
That’s why we’ve spent the past three years rigorously testing sleep products to find the very best buys on the market, from mattresses and duvets to trackers and smart alarms, as part of our Sleep Awards.
Back for the fourth year, the Good Housekeeping Institute’s Sleep Awards celebrate the products that truly support a better night’s sleep. From the latest tech to the cosiest bedding, we’ll be putting the most recent launches to the test in the lab and at home to bring our readers the very best buys for their bedrooms.
Here’s everything you need to know, including how to submit your product(s) for consideration.
How are products tested for the GHI’s Sleep Awards?
The GHI Sleep Awards winners will be chosen by an expert panel, made up of our brilliant homes and wellness editors and GHI experts. Each product will be reviewed against strict testing protocols in our lab and, where applicable, they will also be sent out to GH members to trial at home before sharing detailed feedback via online questionnaires.
The review process
- All submitted products will undergo independent testing, assessment and editorial review, carried out by the Good Housekeeping Institute and Good Housekeeping editors.
- Entry submission does not guarantee inclusion, shortlisting or award wins in any category.
- Editorial discretion will determine the most suitable category placement for each product, based on its nature, performance and market positioning.
- The testing process is confidential and proprietary to Good Housekeeping.
Submission fee
- To enter your product, we require a non-refundable submission fee of £250 (plus VAT, where applicable). This applies to each individual product entered.
- The submission fee must be paid in full. Brands will be invoiced within 14 days of entry.
- Entries will not be considered complete until payment has been received.
Awards logos and licensing
- Should a product be selected as a winner in its category, the entrant has the option to purchase the official Good Housekeeping Institute Sleep Awards logo and the GHI Approved logo for marketing and promotional use, for each award won.
- Use of the logo or any reference to an award win or testing outcome without prior written authorisation is strictly prohibited.
What are the requirements for sleep products to be considered?
Both new and hero products can be submitted for the GHI Sleep Awards. They must be available for purchase by consumers through to April 2028 to be considered. All products should also be available to buy in the UK or with the option to be shipped affordably to the UK.

The team will consider the following categories for the GHI Sleep Awards:
- Mattresses, including kids and cot mattresses
- Bedding e.g. toppers, protectors, pillows, duvets, bedding sets, blankets
- Beds e.g. bed frames, adjustable beds, kids' beds, sofa beds, and headboards

Please email [email protected] if you have a product that isn’t listed above but you believe it would be a great fit for the awards.
How can I submit a product for review?
You must submit an entry form to be considered. You’ll find more information about submitting product samples via the entry form link. If you have multiple products to submit, you must fill out a separate form for each one. You will be able to pay for all submissions together.
When are the winners announced?
The GHI Sleep Award winners will be published online at the end of May 2027 and in the July 2027 print issue.
What is the deadline for submission?
If you're entering mattresses, bed frames, sofa beds or adjustable beds, please enter by Wednesday 18 November 2026 using the submission form, to allow us enough time to test.
